Public Education

Agricultural Leadership of Oklahoma (ALO) educates the public regarding the economic, cultural, and social importance of agriculture, food and farming to the people of Oklahoma and the United States of America.

The Farmer/Rancher Pals Program is a joint venture between Oklahoma Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) and Agricultural Leadership of Oklahoma (ALO) that started in May 2013. It is a cultural exchange program that links classrooms with farmers and ranchers who produce the food and fiber that are the basics of everyday life. Students learn about the rural way of life and the fundamentals (who, what, when, where, how and why) of food and fiber production. And if those students are excited about what they learn, they will help us educate the adults in their lives about the economic, cultural, and social importance of agriculture, food and farming to the people of Oklahoma and the United States of America.

The program links OALP alumni who are Farmers or Ranchers with classrooms that are interested in learning about what they do. If you would like to participate please contact us at the email address at the bottom of this page.
